This will be Lars Laumann’s second solo presentation at the gallery, having also been included in the group show The Hidden at Maureen Paley in 2008. Laumann’s work can currently be seen in a solo exhibition at the Kunsthalle Winterthur, and in this year’s Liverpool Biennial, Touched. In 2008 Laumann was included in the 5th Berlin Biennial where he first showed the work Berlinmuren. His work has recently been screened as part of Modern Mondays at The Museum of Modern Art, New York and at the Whitechapel Gallery, London earlier this year. In 2009 Laumann was awarded the Statoil Art Award in Norway. Other exhibitions this year include a solo show at Bunkier Sztuki, Krakow, Free at the New Museum, New York and False Friends, Jeu de Paume, Paris. Previous exhibitions include Fort Worth Contemporary Arts, Fort Worth, Texas, 2009, Galway Arts Centre, as part of the Galway Arts Festival, Galway, Ireland, 2009, 1989. Ende der Geschichte oder Beginn der Zukunft?, Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna, 2009 and The Reach of Realism, Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami, Florida, 2009. From January next year Laumann will take his position as Artist in Residence at the Kadist Art Foundation, Paris, and has a forthcoming solo exhibition at the Kunsthall Oslo, also in 2011. Laumann was born in Brønnøysund, Norway.
